If Walls Could Speak

What stories they might tell.

Walls such as these have heralded in many a first day of summer.

They’ve seen babies born, and life recede.

They’ve sheltered from storms and watched as the first lilacs of the year are put on the table.

The clouds of white across the wall behind all the framed pictures almost look like fluffy hydrangea blooms, don’t they?

Walls that appear mottled and patterned after other wall coverings are stripped away leave me breathless, and these particular walls take the cake.

Thanks to Shannon Fricke for pointing me toward this home in Nimes, France, featured in Marie Claire Maison, photography by Vincent Leroux.
