I’m still in sugar recovery after some intense gingerbread building for the Gingerbread Festival—a local fundraiser for a family center held last weekend. This is the third year where we Henhouse Fibers gals have gathered to make a creative confection: a gingerbread treehouse with a host of woodland creatures to inhabit it. The birds, chipmunks, squirrels, owl, fox and snails were made from marzipan. All ingredients were edible (though not all were sweet). We placed third for popular vote out of 60 or so houses. Already thinking up ideas for next year….
